FAQ’s

What is Instant Money?

Instant Money Bulk Issuing is a payment service that will allow employers (businesses or individuals) to pay their staff’s wages, allowances and incentives in a cost-effective and secure manner. These recipients could be employees or individual vendors, partners, or customers.

Where can the recipient cash out the money?

The funds can be cashed out immediately from any of Standard Bank’s ATM’s or AccessPoints or through any SPAR store nationally. The employer chooses a secret PIN code for each recipient which he/ she provides to them and the recipient receives a sms to confirm that money is available to be cashed out.

Are the any limits are on the amounts that can be sent?

Yes, per recipient there is a send limit of R5, 000 per day and R25, 000 per month.

Does the recipient need a bank account to receive the money?

No, a bank account is not required.

When can the recipient cash out the money I have received?

Our retail partners’ (Spar, Standard Bank AcccesPoints, One-Cell) business hours will apply. Vouchers can also be cashed out at SBSA ATM’s at any time.

When will the transferred funds be available?

The recipient will be immediately notified of the funds received via SMS and can request a cash out using the secret PIN code at a participating outlet.

I have sent money to the incorrect cellphone number, can I rectify this?

Yes, the PIN code is the most important number needed to cash-out the money. Call 0860 463339 (IMONEY). Request assistance from the operator to retrieve the transaction and re-send it to the correct cell number. Remember, you will require your ID and the proof of the original transaction in order for this to take place.

Is the money stored on the recipient's cell phone?

No. The cell phone is only an information transfer mechanism. Value is not stored on the phone or on the cell phone network's system. The funds are safely held at the bank in a Standard Bank account, until redeemed/paid-out.

What happens if the recipient uses the incorrect PIN code for a Pay-Out?

Please ensure provide the correct PIN code to the recipient. If the recipient enters the wrong code 3 times your funds will be suspended for a 24hr period.
